On Saturday July 5th (3pm to 4.30pm), join Simon and Judith Raven at their home (2 Fen Cottages – IP19 9NF) on the edge of Dunwich Forest, just off the B1125 Blythburgh to Westleton Road.
You are invited to an afternoon ‘garden-party’ featuring the following attractions:
Over 70 self-created garden ‘objets d’art’ – Ideas in search of an artist
A collector’s collection of works by other local artists
After last year’s very enjoyable foray into opening our garden for this themed event, we are having another go at an 'arts and eats afternoon' on the theme Ideas in search of an artist.
The afternoon will include a wander round the garden and its assembled 'objets', with an I-Spy sheet for identification purposes, (think Derek Jarman’s Garden at Dungeness as a model of what to expect!) This will be followed by refreshments and a round-table discussion on the theme of ‘Yes, but is it art?' NB. Simon calls himself a ‘creative bodger’ rather than an artist, so you get the idea!
Included in the afternoon there is also a fabulous wasp's nest (minus the wasps!) Fragile - look but please do not touch!
Refreshments (coffee/tea/soft-drink & Swedish buns) will be available. Please book via the link above – members £6 / non-members £8 / young people under 16 free. No dogs please - the garden doesn’t have secure boundaries!
Please aim to arrive as close to 3pm as possible.
Also, there may be Fen Cottage Honey for sale thanks to Judith's hard-working bees (please bring cash if interested).
Strictly limited numbers - advance booking essential to avoid disappointment.
